Three weeks after the shoot, our feature film R&D test is in the final stages of post-production.

The test brings photographed performance, 3D and generative image-making together in a process led by filmmakers. Its purpose is practical: to find out whether generative finishing can behave like a production tool, carrying the performance, composition and creative direction through to the finished image, and responding to notes without losing what has already been approved.

Built around creative intent

The work begins with the decisions that make a film: performance, staging, camera, light and design. The test explores how those decisions can guide the generative work and stay part of the conversation as each shot develops.

That means proving the method through the real work of post: making images, taking notes, revising and refining, with the scrutiny of high-end visual effects behind every shot. Each round informs the next, improving both the images and the method behind them.

Production drives development

Alongside the image-making, our own production system keeps work moving between creative stages under human direction. Its agentic next generation is in active development, shaped by what productions like this one teach us. Read more at Wander.dev.
