Why we started

The tools have changed. The judgment a film needs has not.

We founded Wander• after long careers in high-end film, television and visual effects, at a moment when generative image-making was moving faster than the production practice around it.

Our view is simple. These tools are most valuable in the hands of people who understand how films are made: how a performance is protected, how a shot is lit and lensed, how notes are given and how work is delivered. We bring that experience to every project, from the script to the final frame.

We work with specialist collaborators and scale each team around the production in front of us.

Executive Producer & Founder

Denise Doll

Denise Doll is Executive Producer and Founder of Wander•. With over 16 years’ experience in VFX and production across high-end film, television and commercials, she has led teams and complex productions from concept through final delivery.

Having returned home to Belfast, she is now bringing that experience to Directed Generative Production, developing new production methodologies that integrate generative technology into established filmmaking practice while preserving creative direction, performance and authorship.

Her background also includes acting and live music, giving her experience on both sides of the production process and informing Wander•’s approach to working with performers and creative teams.

Matt Doll

Matt Doll is VFX Supervisor and Founder of Wander•. He has more than 20 years in visual effects and compositing across the USA, Canada, China, the UK and Iceland, supervising teams of more than 150 artists.

He has always cared as much about how images are made as the images themselves, designing pipelines, writing software and following machine learning and real-time engines closely. He is an outspoken advocate for generative image-making, on one condition: that filmmakers direct it.

At Wander• he works from script breakdown through on-set supervision to the final image, and leads Wander.dev.

Northern Ireland has one of the most established film and television production communities in these islands, with experienced crews, stages and the support of Northern Ireland Screen.

Belfast is our base. Between us we have worked across the USA, Canada, China, the UK and Iceland, and we work with productions wherever they begin.
